The Digital Twin for Material and Lightweight Solutions
29th April 2021
16-16:45 hrs
Online Seminar
Due to increasing regulations as well as ecological, economic and technological challenges, the importance of novel material solutions and joining processes in industrial applications is steadily growing. The development departments of companies are constantly faced with new challenges: The requirement profile of the joining point is expanding with a simultaneously large variety of available joining processes and influencing parameters. Here, companies greatly appreciate the holistic view of research institutions regarding the problem, which is why know-how is often bundled in cooperations and joining processes are developed collectively in a holistic manner.
DLR's Institute of Vehicle Concepts supports these companies by testing and developing new joining processes with them and by ensuring the desired joining properties in the early development phase. The knowledge required for this is often distributed among various plant managers as well as process specialists and additionally exists in heterogeneous data silos and formats. As a result, a considerable amount of time is required to bring this data together, analyze it and derive findings from it.
The cooperation between DLR, T-Systems and CONWEAVER aims to capture the existing knowledge in an Enterprise Knowledge Graph - a Digital Twin of materials and lightweight construction solutions - making it accessible for further application. The aim is to improve the use of existing knowledge and shorten the development of new processes. Thereby, companies should benefit from a faster and more cost-efficient development process.
In two online seminars we will present the goals and results of the cooperation as well as potentials for your company. In the first seminar on 29th April 2021 we will explain the core idea and objectives, and in the second seminar (in the second half of the year) we will present the initial results of the cooperation.
